Listens 2004 Video 7:30 mins Este proyecto comenzó con la idea de usar el tiempo muerto de unos estudiantes, los tiempos no definidos, tomar ese tiempo raro y la energía incontrolable de esos momentos y hacer algo concreto con ellos. Crear pequeñas ficciones que existen en el espacio imaginario entre ellos y yo. Un juego de palabras con una estudiante agorafóbica comienza con estas preguntas: ¿Cuales fuentes de sonido captas? ¿Cual es tu radio? Desde cuan lejos puedes escuchar conversaciones ajenas? Entre una cosa y otra hay verdades, aunque no siempre es evidente. Trabajado durante una residencia en Gasworks, Londres. The project began with the idea of using a group of studentsʼ down time, their odds and ends; to take those bits of time and that strange uncontrollable energy and make work out of all those moments, to entice them into creating small fictions that exist in the space between my imagination and theirs. A language game with an agoraphobic student begins with these questions ʻWhat kinds of sounds can you pick up? What is your range? How far away can you hear conversations?ʼ Mixed in with these questions are some lies and some very truthful answers; which is which is not always self-evident.
